There are impressive properties, and then there are properties that are true architectural wonders. The $21 million mini-mansion located on 810 Lakeview Drive in Miami Beach is such a place. The mastermind behind the stunning residence is renowned Italian architect and designer Achille Salvagni. The Italian’s design genius has touched every detail of the home–from the architecture to the bespoke furniture, even down to the smallest of room accents. It’s super retro and funky yet ultra-modern. It’s fun. And, it’s no wonder it’s currently the hottest property on the Miami luxury real estate market.
The home is new: Salvagni was commissioned by an overseas client who decided to sell before moving in. It’s ideally located in Miami Beach’s more docile west side, with just a short drive to downtown. The property also includes 111 feet of waterfront on the Surprise Inlet that leads into Surprise Lake. The listing agent, Oren Alexander of Douglas Elliman, is no stranger to exclusive estates. Alexander has expertly overseen the sale of many high-end homes in Miami and New York City.

The most sought after designer in Miami luxury real estate
Known for designing luxury homes, yachts, furniture, and lighting, Salvagni uses rich textures, luxe materials, and manipulated angles to produce stunning showpieces sensuous to the eye. Influenced by Italian luxury design from the Renaissance to the 1950s, he creates objects using contrasting materials–such as bronze offset with LED lighting–for a refreshing take on classic designs. Based in Rome, the designer also has studios in New York and London.
Nearly all the furniture and accents inside the home have been pulled from the Achille Salvagni Atelier Collection and are beautifully coordinated with one-of-a-kind antique pieces sourced from Italy. Everything within the property can be purchased for an additional $1.2 million over asking—a steal, considering the amount of carefully curated Achille Salvagni pieces that reside within the home.
The mansion is nearly 8,000 square feet and sits on a third of an acre. The front steel gates open up to a truly breathtaking exterior view of white curvilinear walls and a striking, angular roof. Dark wood panels accent the front walkway, adding depth to the ultra-white exterior walls. White pavers lead to the door, and beyond that, after an inconspicuous wooden front door lies the grand foyer.
The grand foyer opens up to the double-height living area, with views of the 90-foot outdoor infinity pool through a set of massive glass sliding doors. Two of Salvagni’s signature rounded sofas congregate beneath a massive, ultra-modern seven arm sculptural chandelier. Just across the way, four yellow Tato club chairs face each other, accompanied by a glossy blue lacquer column. The home truly feels museum quality.

Inside one of the world’s most exclusive estates
Stepping into the dine-in chef’s kitchen is a nearly surreal experience with its custom cabinetry detailed with 24-karat gold and Belgium Black marble flooring. The kitchen is stocked with every professional chef’s dream: top-of-the-line Wolf and Sub-Zero appliances. The unusually shaped oval island is extended out by a curvilinear marble countertop for more counter area and kitchen seating. The main floor also includes two bedrooms, a yoga room, steam room, and garage access.
Climbing the spectacular bronze staircase leads to the second floor, which houses the primary bedroom with a private deck overlooking the pool. Here, the bedroom connects to a custom walk-in closet adorned with warm dark woods and cool marble accents. The adjoining bathroom features more of the glossy Belgium Black marble and a magnificent oval tub. Also on the second floor are four other bedrooms and an open mezzanine area. Soft pink sofas await in the mezzanine area, perfect for lounging and gazing out the floor-to-ceiling windows to the quiet, palm tree-laced waterfront.
Back down to the main living area and out the massive sliding glass doors is the limestone terrace, complete with a cabana and outdoor kitchen. The quiet limestone and the glistening infinity pool are together the perfect serene backdrop for ultimate relaxation. The outdoor area is entirely surrounded by palm trees and shrubbery for privacy. Just a few steps from the infinity pool lies the dock.
The mini-mansion may not be for everybody, but it wasn’t intended to be. Living within the home is like living within a full-custom Achille Salvagni showpiece. The only one of its kind in the world, the home was custom built to perfectly complement Miami Beach: the stark whites, vibrant colors, and funky details reflect the city’s extravagant and fun energy.
